Catfish in the Missouri.

I see the G and F is saying there are high numbers of Channel Cats in upper Oahe and Upper Sak also the Tailrace. Im wondering what sizes a guy can get into and where is the best chance of finding some big ones? Any shore spot areas anyone is wiling to share? What is the biggest you have heard of out of the tailrace or any of the system?

We use to fish under the bridge at Beaver Bay. We caught quite a few over 10 lbs and lots of 2-5 pounders. Some days over 20 fish in only 2-3 hrs. All fishing from shore. Im not sure how much water is in the bay now.

Relive your memories take a kid hunting and fishing

They are thick as fleas just about everywhere but over all their size is small with the vast majority under five pounds. Biggest I've caught or seen for that matter was 15. But what they lack in size they make up for it with sheer numbers. Just hit the bottoms south of bismarck and find where trees have fallen into a deep hole and then fish just upstream and they will find you fast. Just find spots like this which are often the most common type of shoreline you will find around here and you will find the cats along with a shit pot of other fish primarily goldeneye, drum and sturgeon.
