There are several forums going on. It will obviously be a bad time for Bismarck and people will want to chatter about it. Lets keep all the related talk in here.
The latest projection is for the dam to hold at 85,000 cfs through June 8th. Unfortunately, this is not in good news. It is a means to allot time for Bismarck / Mandan and other downstream communities and homes to prepare for what is coming June 9th.
On June 9th the dam will be pushing 105,000 cfs. It has been told the rainfall out west in the last couple weeks has equaled the ANNUAL rainfall. You simply do not and cannot plan for that.
Releases may need to go even further if we get rain events. Plus obviously, we have record snowfall on the way.
Not good folks but it is no time to ridicule, panic or place blame. Quite frankly, Mother Nature is winning and we will leave it at that.
Thanks for understanding and lets remember Fargo and their fights. Together, they got through this and at one point in time they were in uncharted territory. Bismarck has never seen this and it will take strong efforts from our citizens to get through it. But I believe we can.
