I like to hunt and look at pictures on hunting buddy after deer season. A lot of things have been boiling inside me since the 2017 ND deer season. I am a rancher/landowner within about 35 miles of one of ND major cities. I have never seen so many hunters in my life and so few deer. There could have been an interstate highway sign on the road next my place for all the traffic. I think someone was just collecting dollars. On the land I operate part is in plots, posted and not posted. Correct me if I am wrong, but plots lands are open to walk in access only. Hunters can retrieve game with their vehicle given landowner permission. Well, the ag trails on my plots lands looked like a highway after deer season and not a sole asked for permission. I had someone drive through a closed gate on a private ag trail too. I post the land around my ranch head quarters just to protect my cattle, buildings, etc. One day I drove over to check cows and what did I find. Someone without permission shot a deer from the road on my posted ground. Opened the gate and drove past the no hunting sign and picked the poached deer up and tore out of there leaving the gate open. About two weeks ago someone decided to throw their deer hide and carcass in the ditch at the end of my drive. Now my dogs are dragging it all over. Other thing I have noticed is all the garbage in the ditches since hunting has started, including a big panel tv. I hate to say it but it is a shame a few bad apples have to have so much disrespect for landowners. After this all my land will be posted. Now hoping the law passes making all land posted without signing it. After plots land contract is up it will be posted too. All my gates will now have locks and chains. No one will be allowed to hunt again. Don't even ask.
