Moose Tag in M11

My wife drew a any moose tag in M11.  This is her dream hunt so I really want to put her on a nice bull!  If any one has any tips, suggestions or knows of a bull please send me a message?

Will not be too hard! Pretty much anyone will let you hunt them! Look for corn and sunflowers. Scout in morning and evenings. They pretty much lay in flowers and corn all day! Daughter shot one a couple years ago by Garrison. They are all over!

Good Luck!

I had a tag in that area a few years back before they split the unit and learned that scouting is key.  They a big animals that move a long ways in a day when they decided to move out.  The largest population that I found was on the river bottoms southeast of Williston.  It is thick and can be hard to get them out of after you get one down but its also where you will find the biggest bulls since most people won't go in there.  You need to go in by boat and its probably the closest thing to an Alaskan or  Yukon hunt but like I said if you can locate a big bull on an island you can get up on him pretty easy.  Just plan accordingly for getting him out.  You'll want to make sure you have lots of help getting it out.  It took 7 of us ( 2 Adults and 5 High School football players) 7 hours to pack my bull out and it was damn hard work.  Get high up on the buttes east of Williston and glass the islands then go get you trophy.  Good luck

Good luck to her! I drew M10 any moose this year. I think I only slept an hour last night thinking about it.

You could make Business cards and place them in local bars and gas stations when season comes around people will call you to come get the moose off their land I had a friend that did that she had lots of calls. When I shot my moose in 2008 he was 10 mile from where I spoted hm the week before. Look in corn and sunflower fields even if you don't see anythin in the field you could always make a loud noise they will stand up so you can see them.

Not trying to be negative, but if you litteraly put any effort in you will be successful. The people up their love to get in on a hunt and if you make any effort to talk to anyone you run into up there they will help you or point you to someone who can.

I know stuff about stuff.

Give me a email or phone number.  My wife shot a 39 inch bull in M11 last year.  Lots of good people up there willing to help.

Make as many contacts as you can.  Moose are all over, and the more boots on the ground or eyes out there the better off you will be.

Definitely plan some July fishing/ scouting trips.  If she bow hunts, hunt and scout 5hen.
