Other than downing trees, often large OLD ones aroound here, their biggest nuicance thing is plugging spillways on stock dams, resulting them washing out the first gully washing thunderstorm. My rancher friends hate em. beg me to trim them back whenever I can!
I’m not so sure about eating a beaver though, Murdock! Been there done that several times. Beaver tail soup has always seemed to,taste “sprucey” for some reason, and when pit barbecued, the meat has been OK but not something I’d wish for. Even raccoon is better. IMHO!
Is there any value for fall beaver fur, or even late spring stuff? Probably not, though I hate killing anything and wasting it, other than SKUNKS! And P Dogs, mice, rats, etc. Too bad the Humaniacs have destroyed the market for fur, especially from critters who have overpopulated their habitat, usually the result of human screwups, often well meaning but harmful......
