Had a rough day today fishing...

Lost two good fish this morning, was able to make up for it by getting a quick gopro clip of a pike underwater. Have a look.

Was out fishing for smallmouth.

Sweet footage!

Don't practice until you get it right, practice until you can't get it wrong.

Nice video just remember it's not a race to try and bring it in the fastest.  You pull that hard your going pull alot of hooks no matter the species. Take it one of you had just caught the pike before filming it?

I agree with Dean...might also check the sharpness of your hooks. I test my hooks on my thumbnail..if they slide across my nail rather than bite into the nail, they need sharpening.

I do this too, and I keep a handy little hook sharpener in my tackle box.

Quit dancing around with the rod/reel and you will lose less fish.

Every time you switch directions while reeling like that you put slack (loss in tension) in the line.   Not good.

Keep your rod tip up and maintain tension on the line.

Good luck.
