ND G&F Surveys / Questionnaires

Just trying to understand why the G&F continues to mail out surveys, questionnaires and what not.  For those of you with a Spring Turkey tag, I'm sure you received the emails and texts reminding you that you have to get a new 2018 license before you can get your tag.  Then they mailed a letter.

I am just amazed that in 2018, they continue to waste money and resouces on mailing paper surveys out.  All this should be done online.  I see now on the '2018 Spring Turkey Hunter Expenditure Questionnaire' that I just received, there is a note that it can be completed online.  So why mail it out?  Email or text or better yet, get a phone app that is user friendly on a mobile device, unlike the current G&F website.

I wrote Mr. Steinwand an email asking why the G&F is wasting all this money on paper surveys, but, never received a response of course.  I can't imagine how many hundreds of thousands of dollars they waste annually on postage and paper.  Then, you have to have the staff to open the letters and scan the surveys.  Maybe it's just me, but this seems like such a waste when all this could be done so easily online.

I couldn't agree more and it's been brought up many times at advisory meetings and it's the same old answer, "We don't have the current technology or funding to upgrade our systems yet.....blah blah blah". Heck they finally just got rid of the paper apps for deer this year. They move at a snails pace updating to current technology. Not sure if it's because of older generations still in power or what. 

Everything should be done online by now and the survey's should be required in order to apply or buy future licenses. It would improve their data and efficiency of running lotteries, save money, etc.
