Froelich Dam - 9 miles north, 2 miles west of Selfridge (pike, walleye, perch).

Report group:

Fishing was slow

Fishing was slow at Froelich Dam. Caught 1 jumbo perch in the deepest hole of the lake I could find. Did not even mark another fish. The plus side, The ice was 12 inches thick. We drilled about 30 holes to go on the lookout for perch and was all for that one fish.

Froelich Dam - Saturday, February 16, 2013

Went out February 9th at around 6 a.m.  There were four of us.  The first hit was a 10" walleye right away when we got there.  The sun wasn't even up yet.  After that it was pretty slow until about 8 a.m.  From 8 a.m. until about 3 p.m. we pulled in about a dozen 6" perch and 7 northern ranging from 16" - 26".  From 3 p.m. until dark there were only a couple small perch pulled in.  We targeted walleyes all day.  There were two groups of us and we were all over the lake all day with no luck finding the walleyes.  We graphed fish all day with the vexilar.

Froelich Dam - Sunday, January 20, 2013

We got out just at sunrise and the ice was about 12".  Weather was about +5 F and windy.  Four people in the party and we had 12-14 lines in.  Set lines from 5' down to 25' and fished for about 3 hours.  Fished a variety of presentations and were using minnows and waxies.  Couldn't get anything to hit.  Got robbed by a pike 5 minutes before we packed up and that was the only bite we got.  We were the only ones on the ice except for a lone coyote we saw as we were leaving.

Froelich Dam - Friday, January 4, 2013

Fished in 20 ft. of water.  Had holes drilled and set up house before sunrise.  Thought we could get a jump on the morning bite.  Fished with salmo's, buckshots, and spoons.  Used live minnows, and gulp minnows.  Had no luck with the salmo's or gulp.  Caught two small perch and one walley by ten.  Extremely slow day.
