Remaining antlerless tags

There's still a chance for those of us unlucky SOBS who didn't get drawn in the first lottery.

North Dakota's deer gun lottery has been held and individual results are available online at the State Game and Fish Department's website.

More than 2,800 antlerless deer gun licenses remain. Only resident applicants who were unsuccessful in the first lottery can apply for remaining licenses.

The first lottery application process – deer gun, muzzleloader, youth and landowner – had more than 107,000 applicants, and just under 53,000 were unsuccessful.

An option for unsuccessful applicants to apply online for remaining licenses will be available Aug. 8. Paper applications for remaining licenses will be mailed to individuals the week of Aug. 7. The deadline for applying is Aug. 30.

Looked at the PLOTS map, 3F2 doesn't look like it's lacking too much in the public land department.  There's a fair bit of plots down there.

That's the CWD unit too. Where all of the ND CWD cases have been found. GNF has increased tags down there for that reason.

The tag numbers are high there for the main reason it didn't get hit remotely as hard as the rest of the state by the bad winters and missed out on the big EHD die off that took out the rest of the south west corner. Add in huge areas with no roads it makes it easier for the deer to surviive. There have only been a handful of CWD all in the same spot over in grant County. As for the natives they only occupie the east half of one of the five county's in the unit and clearly NorseDakota has never hunted down there!!!

All hail Dean, PHD in hunting in his unit. You do realize the reason people don't like you is the way that you constantly talk like you are better then everyone.dont you remember the beating you took in Nodak for all the trash you talked over their. So you come over here and talk down to people. I don't talk much on these sights but am fed up with how you act like you are better and know more then everyone. Your a keyboard warrior and that's about it. Coming from one of those natives.

Has anybody tried to apply for a remaining tag yet?  The option doesn't show up for me.  Supposed to be able to do it today.

Looks like the Game and Fish are having some "technical difficulties"  they say to check back on Thursday for the 2nd lottery applications.

Sorry but  this kind of sarcastic nastiness is precisely why I refuse to register at Nodak Angler!  The best thing that Fishingbuddy ever did was to clean up this site! It resulted in all the nasties and the juvenile girlie picture crowd exiting to over there!  Yep, things were pretty dead here for a while but things continue to improve here, thanks to the new staff! There's a few of the nice guys over  there when I occasionally look at it, but still not worth it to patronize the website by signing up and being afraid to occasionally disagree with some of  the core herd of nasties and feel their wrath and adult internet bullying!  Hope none of the sarcastic cutting comment type people don't sneak back here and wreck things again!  I could name several of their ringleaders but I won't!   Thankfully that's the kind of member they like over there, which is of immense benefit to other outdoor websites like a FBO!

On a more pleasant note......... Looking forward to the best part of the year in ND!  The walleye and salmon are biting, the waterfowl getting ready to launch, the pheasants learning to fly and run, deer sharpening their antlers, and for the lucky big three ???two?? Draws, the elk are closing in on their yearly bugle and head bashing fest, moose getting moosey, and p dogs always praitiedogging, and coyotes growing prime fur.  And those great Indian Summer days!

Good to be alive in ND!  Though admittedly I gladly snowbird come winter! LOL
