Splicing a lowrance transducer cable

Anyone have any luck with this? Is their anyone out there that offers this service? Called a few dealers and they both said to buy a new transducer. I can't believe it's impossible?

Joe, how many wires in that cable? Should be easy enough to splice if one knows what they are doing and use proper stuff, etc.  I think way back I fixed one for a guy whose dog chewed on to bits,  but there was only 2 wires and a shield if I remember correctly.  But things might have changed.....that stuff gets added to and changed all the time.

Know any old ham radio operators? Those guys are generally all to happy to tackle stuff like this.  Reminds them  of old times when we had to build all our stuff, rather than simply buy it and plug it in and go.  Not knocking modern stuff that’s WAY better.  Just building is a dying art....

Where’d you go Joe? I’d bet I could fix your cable in a few minutes.  You in Bis area?
