Youtube to ban guns

YouTube, a popular media site for firearms enthusiasts, this week quietly introduced tighter restrictions on videos involving weapons, becoming the latest battleground in the U.S. gun-control debate.

YouTube will ban videos that promote or link to websites selling firearms and accessories, including bump stocks, which allow a semi-automatic rifle to fire faster. Additionally, YouTube said it will prohibit videos with instructions on how to assemble firearms. The video site, owned by Alphabet's Google, has faced intense criticism for hosting videos about guns, bombs and other deadly weapons.

I’ve used UTube for a lot of things, including assembly/disassembly of guns.  I can’t see that as a problem, though I guess I’d draw the line on stuff like how to make a bomb as it seems to me homemade bombs are illegal, so why post a how-to class for a disturbed kid or adult to make them!?

But I do understand honest gunowners concern about the slippery slope problem. I’ve long maintained that if we gun owners never change our stonewall never-compromise, no dialogue with concerned well meaning citizens ( not talking about the Pelosi or BOXER TYPES HERE)  sooner or later if shootings continue the masses, AKA VOTERS, will overreact and we’ll have totally draconian regulations shoved down our throats.

Back to the topic-where does a website draw  the line on what’s posted or not.  Maybe I’m too old and conservative but if I owned such a website I’d  at least refuse to allow any how-to stuff posted if it were illegal and had a potential to help some deranged individual hurt me or family, the little old ,lady down th street, or,those young men and women in the school I drive by every day.  Or the people trying to enjoy a rock concert in Vegas.   All of us here are RESPONSIBLE gun owners ...........we should all be against IRREPONSIBLE ownership and use.  But maybe I’m getting too old and conservative.

Like I said, Jiffy, I’ve used U Tube to find out mechanical, stuff on a lot of my guns that manufacturers don’t support any more or my many antique ones.  Extremely handy, and convenient.  But if something is illegal, I guess I,can’t blame them for banning videos of it.  Even as a liability thing.

IMHO this is a classic case of throwing out the baby with the bath water. Undoubtedly ‘lol, see more and more of,this in the future, which to me would indicate that gun owner groups should be proactive in giving POSITIVE and INTELLIGENT advice to decision makers of things like websites to prevent the slippery slope of political correctness and maybe, just maybe, educate some of,the well meaning but misinformed public on important issues.  Continual saying NO, NO, NO, Dead Hands, and other feel good platitudes only makes a bad situation worse? IMHO.

At any rate, now  I’ll have to find another, source for my firearm how-to questions.

Just getting ready to go to the local gun show here in AZ to see if there are any new shooting gadgets or guns or other toys I can’t live without.  HAH!  I wonder if there will be any protesters at the door?!?!

I took the youtube app off my phone a couple of days ago.  I'm a little disgusted that the glory houd Tide Pod eaters like Hogg are getting so much attention.  They know little of life yet.  Donuts and Doritos don't spontaneously generate in the kitchen cabinets.  Gas doesn't spontaneously generate in the vehicles gas tank.  Then they have signs like we seen Muslim demostrators carry saying "we don't care about our freedom we want to be safe".  Our ansestors may have died for nothing before this is over.

I don't believe all was for naught.  I was 99.99% sure Hillary was going to get in and the American people surprised me.

That was the most pleasant surprise I have had in years.  I worry about the generation coming up.  Look at the little glory hound, tide pod eating, David Hogg.  Most of those kids marched so they could see themselves on TV, but they will do it again too.  Facebook isn't enough for them.  They all want to be famouse.  Maybe we could head this off with a new social media called "Famouse Book".
